My grandmother told me she wanted a painting from me for christmas…the catch: it can’t be digital. (In her view, digital art is not ‘real’ art. I assume that’s an older generational thing…) Anyway, I figured, well, I ought to start practicing again, even if it is digital. So here was my attempt; “Kiss the Librarian.”

When people talk about vampire romance, many automatically think of Twilight’s Edward and Bella. Well, for me, what instantly comes to mind is Spike and Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Hands down one of my favorite romances from any show ever, and staring some of my favorite characters ever created. Twilight has nothing on this stuff. Whedon is an amazing storyteller and isn’t afraid to tell it how he wants it.

Anyway this was painted in Paint Tool Sai and Photoshop with a Wacom Splash tablet.
