“Symphony of Illumination”

The episode where instead of Future Ted talking to his kids about how he met his mother, Robin is telling her children how she told Barney she’s pregnant with his child. In a previous episode, Robin and Barney had sex and also cheated on their significant others (Barney dating Noah and Robin dating Kevin). Robin doesn’t want kids and when telling Barney, he was happy about the news. Robin and Barney go to the doctor’s to make sure if she’s really pregnant or not. She’s not pregnant and they dance in joy. Robin later on drinks liquor and smokes a cigar until she gets a call from the doctor. She goes back to the doctor and gets the horrible news that she can never have children. Robin has a hard time telling her friends that she’s unable to have children but instead lies and tells them that she’s not able to be a Canadian pole vaulter. The views later learn that the children Robin are talking to are just in her imagination and she has come to terms  that can never have children. Robin gets home and is surprised by Ted making a Christmas light display saying “Merry Christmas Robin” while AC/DC “Highway To Hell’. Future Ted then tells his children that Robin ended up becoming a famous journalist, traveled around the world, and even at one time was a bull-fighter but also mentions that Robin was never alone.

In my opinion this is the most depressing episode of that show.
