Joanna found them in Cersei’s bed, arms and legs all a tangle, until it was impossible to tell where one ended and the other began. She shook Jaime gently, then Cersei. “The two of you don’t want to sleep through your nameday, do you?”
As they broke their fast that morning, she gave the twins their first gift. “Jaime, Cersei, I have a story for you.”
“I want to be called Queen Cersei,” her daughter of five years said around a mouthful of bacon. “Are there knights?” Jaime asked eagerly on top of her.
"Very well, Your Grace,” Joanna smiled as Cersei tried to decide whether or not the title was following her instructions. “And of course there is a knight, Jaime. What kind of story do you think I would tell?” With that, Joanna began. “Once upon a time, in a castle hard against the edge of the western ocean…”
